My wife barely muffled her laugh when I told her I was taking the message of Take Back Our Republic to Harvard Law students last Monday and Tuesday. Then Wednesday my one friend who had graduated from Harvard law passed away (click on image below for story or click here), and Friday I learned a brilliant conservative undergrad from Harvard plans to intern with us. Before this "Harvard week" I had spent a total of 3 hours on Harvard's campus my entire life. Admittedly I never expected to present to a room full of law students at Harvard. My weekly [...]

By Benjy Sarlin NextGen Climate, the environmental super PAC founded by billionaire Tom Steyer, announced plans on Monday to punish Republican presidential candidates who reject the scientific consensus on climate change. The group spent over $70 million in the 2014 midterms attacking Republican candidates in a number of high-profile Senate races, but were unable to stem the tide in what was ultimately a strong GOP year. On a call with reporters on Monday, NGC chief strategist Chris Lehane declined to provide a specific dollar pledge for the 2016 race, but said that Steyer and his allies would _spend what it [...]

A room full of Harvard students asks TBOR ED, John Pudner, questions about Take Back Our Republic this morning. Ironically last night Pudner had a room full of Auburn University students do the same after his wife invited them over for Easter Dinner. To keep the college theme, he actually was able to pull the old fashioned all-nighter between the two to make the flight. TBOR ED John Pudner (center at desk) gestures during his answer to one of many questions from Harvard students about campaign finance reform

March 6th, 2015By John Finnerty/CNHI State Reporter HARRISBURG -- John Pudner, who masterminded a grassroots, Tea Party upset of former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, has a new Goliath in his sights: campaign finance reform. Pudner is leading a new group called Take Back Our Republic that is agitating for a conservative strategy for campaign finance reform. The way to tip the balance, he says, might be to encourage more small donors to contribute. Last year, the top 100 donors nationally gave a combined $323 million in campaign contributions. That_s almost as much as the $356 million given by 4.75 [...]
