From Breitbart NewsBy John Pudner (Executive Director at Take Back Our Republic) In the past two weeks the German founder of an international porn distribution company was convicted of tax evasion stemming from charges he had not paid taxes on $100 million in profits, while Reuters reported that American authorities declined to investigate $327,000 in political contributions given by his old company to a political referendum in the US. For conservatives the ramifications are scary. Now that the current management of the company, Manwin International SARL, knows they will not even be questioned in connections with hundreds of thousands of [...]

If you want to educate people at about something like conservative solutions to campaign finance reform, the best place to start is at a barber shop near the State Capitol (Southside Barber has been in Jefferson City since 1908)... and only then head over to the Capitol (outside Harry S. Truman building across the street from the Capitol). Tomorrow it is onto the Mizzou campus.

May 4th, 2015 While NPR focuses on conservative donors and does not mention that liberals Tom Steyer and Michael Bloomberg were the two biggest political donors last cycle, we appreciate them including Richard Painter, a TBOR Board Member and former ethics counsel for President George W. Bush:. "The taxpayer has to have _ has a right to have a meaningful voice in choosing the people who are going to spend the money." To get that meaningful voice, Painter proposes $200 tax credits, for people to use as political contributions. Those could be worth $8 billion per election, he says, and [...]

My wife barely muffled her laugh when I told her I was taking the message of Take Back Our Republic to Harvard Law students last Monday and Tuesday. Then Wednesday my one friend who had graduated from Harvard law passed away (click on image below for story or click here), and Friday I learned a brilliant conservative undergrad from Harvard plans to intern with us. Before this "Harvard week" I had spent a total of 3 hours on Harvard's campus my entire life. Admittedly I never expected to present to a room full of law students at Harvard. My weekly [...]

By Benjy Sarlin NextGen Climate, the environmental super PAC founded by billionaire Tom Steyer, announced plans on Monday to punish Republican presidential candidates who reject the scientific consensus on climate change. The group spent over $70 million in the 2014 midterms attacking Republican candidates in a number of high-profile Senate races, but were unable to stem the tide in what was ultimately a strong GOP year. On a call with reporters on Monday, NGC chief strategist Chris Lehane declined to provide a specific dollar pledge for the 2016 race, but said that Steyer and his allies would _spend what it [...]

A room full of Harvard students asks TBOR ED, John Pudner, questions about Take Back Our Republic this morning. Ironically last night Pudner had a room full of Auburn University students do the same after his wife invited them over for Easter Dinner. To keep the college theme, he actually was able to pull the old fashioned all-nighter between the two to make the flight. TBOR ED John Pudner (center at desk) gestures during his answer to one of many questions from Harvard students about campaign finance reform
