Organization Overview:
Take Back Our Republic (TBOR) is a $1MM+, eight-person non-profit educating the public on conservative solutions for
campaign finance reform. Their mission is to become the leading organization in developing a culture in politics where
character and ideas are the basis of being elected and that every election is financed with transparency by the people to
be governed and not by outside special interests. TBOR engages in research, education, and advocacy in favor of
returning political power to individuals.
Headquartered in Auburn Alabama, TBOR has grown to a $1.5 million organization since 2015, has strong financial
backing, an engaged Board, more than a hundred volunteer coordinators in 40 states, and a staff who stands by the
mission.

Position Summary:
As a part-time, in office position, the Director of Compliance will report directly to the Deputy Director and
responsibilities include managing internal administrative duties, e.g. bookkeeping, health insurance and compliance
filings. In addition, may provide support to the development and strategic communications teams.
Resumes received by no later than Thursday, July 5 will be considered. Interviews will take place the week of July 9. Start
date of Wednesday, August 1 with mandatory in-office paid training days on Thursday, July 26 and Friday, July 27.

Primary Responsibilities:
● Develop an account system for financial transactions by establishing and maintaining a chart of accounts
● Document and process invoices, cash receipts and checks in a timely manner
● Work with an external accounting firm to accurately report employee vacation/sick leave
● Monitor the online banking account daily and report any new financial transactions
● Work with the Executive Director to process semimonthly payroll in a timely manner
● Provide fiscal information to the organization’s treasurer who creates monthly financial statements
● Review monthly credit card charges, reconcile all required receipts and process payment in a timely manner
● Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing
adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions
● Gather pertinent information for the annual audit and work with external auditor as needed
● Process the annual health insurance contract renewal once approved by the Executive Director and ensure the
monthly insurance payment is disbursed
● Conduct monthly reconciliations of all accounts to ensure accuracy
● Maintain an organized records filing system
● Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
● Ethical, principle-based leader who communicates high standards and confidentiality
● Effective written, listening and oral communication skills
● Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Willingness to take risks and solve problems creatively
● Experience with financial operations and process management
● Proficiency with Microsoft office products and experience or ability to learn Hubspot
● Must have the ability to analyze information efficiently and provide detail-oriented notations
● Enthusiasm, sense of humor and the ability to be flexible
● Up to 15% travel

DESIRED BACKGROUND/QUALIFICATIONS
● Previous administrative experience is a must and 5+ years of compliance experience is preferred
● Experience as a Director of Compliance for a nonprofit organization, a plus

COMPENSATION
● Compensation for the Director of Compliance will be a competitive non-profit salary commensurate with
experience
