Donors an Issue in Democrat’s 2020 Invisible Primary

AUBURN, AL- We can’t see it yet, but the primary for the Democrat Party’s nomination is in full swing. And, following a cycle where Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump leveraged concerns over big money to surpass expectation, sources of campaign funds has become an early source of differentiation.

Sen. Kamala Harris, an early frontrunner from California, is running into early challenges with the newly dubbed “Bernie Sanders wing” of the Party for… wait for it… courting heavy-hitting traditional Democrat donors, namely members of Hillary Clinton’s finance committee.

As a non-partisan organization, Take Back Our Republic is not taking a position in any primary. It is, nonetheless, intriguing to see early indications that campaign finance disclosures will be a central issue in the 2020 elections.
