Mick Mulvaney’s Stunning Admission and the Dark Money Now Targeting Him

AUBURN, AL- It was weird hearing someone say it out loud. OMB Director and Acting Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Mick Mulvaney gave voice to the open secret in Washington that “pay to play” is a real thing with a recent stunning admission:

“If you were a lobbyist who never gave us money, I didn’t talk to you. If you were a lobbyist who gave us money, I might talk to you. If you came from back home and sat in my lobby, I would talk to you without exception, regardless of the financial contributions.”

This comment rightfully raged eyebrows and sparked outrage, but the reality is that the only difference with Mulvaney is that he’s been honest enough to admit that campaign contributions are a factor in determining face-time with lobbyists.

These comments clearly illustrate the problems with Washington, but the Trump Administration official and former conservative leader in Congress is also under attack from another problem that plagues our politics: dark money.

Left-wing dark money group Allied Progress is running ads urging the removal of Mulvaney. The group is funded by the New Venture Fund which receives its money from George Soros and works with Tom Steyer as well. Allied Progress is clearly a progressive, anti-Trump group and not the consumer watchdog it pretends to be. And, sadly, no one can fully know where its money comes from since it is a dark money group.

This is how corrupt Washington is. Someone points out how they were part of and a contributor to a corrupt system, then a manifestation of that corrupt system uses undisclosed money to attack them. You think that’s what our Founders wanted?

What do you think? Do you think Mulvaney needs to be removed? Or, do you appreciate his honesty? What do you think about dark money groups attacking him? Join the conversation at: https://www.facebook.com/takebackorg/.
