2-Week Lone Star-Buckeye Shuttle Concludes in Dallas

DALLAS – Meg Bartos (center of photo above) kindly invited us to wrap up our two weeks of shuttling between Ohio and Texas with a well-attended event at her Kanju Interiors in Dallas. To her far left are Take Back Our Republic Texas Coordinator Patricia Embry, then her husband Blair. To Meg’s right is a great ally Brad Hillinger, whose organization acts on our shared concern about political giving from private prisons blocking incarceration reform, and Executive Director John Pudner.

Hillinger’s The Tower Industries just cleared a Congressional hurdle with a committee passage of a project that would lead to true work prep education of workers that goes hand-in-hand with efforts of the late Chuck Colson, a conservative hero who pioneered prison ministry. TBOR cites massive political giving linked to requiring states to provide enough prisoners as one of the worst examples of the impact of political money in creating truly damaging public policy.

The event at Bartos’ fantastic gallery of African art in including the incredible chandelier in the photo was a great drop back for people of all ages to discuss with Pudner the frustrations of the broken political system – and to be assured there are solutions. Several similar meeting were held from Houston to west of Austin with supporters and other community leaders attempting to determine the best course of action to take back the Republic.

TBOR President Francis Johnson, a Texas A&M grad before his military service, attended several of the meetings. Most successful conservative efforts have a strong base in Texas, and through a scheduling quirk Pudner went from campaigning in Cincinnati for the gerrymandering reform bill, came to Houston and Austin, returned to Ohio to campaign from Columbus north through the Ohio victory party, then returned to Texas for the great wrap up event in Dallas that set up follow-up events in the near future. Below is a photo of a unique chair Pudner spotted in one of the many meetings in Houston that was given to Texans owner Bob McNair by the NFL.
