Jacob Dean is a partner at Critchfield, Critchfield & Johnston, Ltd., in Wooster, Ohio. Dean received Bachelor’s Degree in corporate finance from Brigham Young University in 2008, his Juris Doctor from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in May 2011 and also holds a Master of Law in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center. Before joining Critchfield law firm, he worked as an associate at Caplin & Drysdale, Chartered, in Washington, DC, served as a law clerk in the chambers of The Honorable Albert G. Lauber, and worked as an attorney tax analyst for The Procter & Gamble Company. Dean has been admitted to the bar in Ohio and the District of Columbia and is a member of the U.S. Tax Court.
A corporate attorney at Critchfield law firm, Dean advises both nonprofit and for-profit clients on corporate formation, governance, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, taxation, benefits, charitable giving, and related matters. He also represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service and state agencies in audit and collection matters.
Dean is active in his local community, having served since 2017 as trustee of Goodwill Industries of Wayne and Holmes Counties and a board member of Bloomington Medical Services LLC. He lives in Wooster, Ohio, with his wife and five children.
