Campaign Finance Limits Stay in Missouri

By TBOR Staff

AUBURN, AL- Missouri, a state at the forefront of the campaign finance and ethics debate, will keep donation limits set by the voters in the November 2016 election.

Voters overwhelmingly backed a measure that set a maximum campaign contribution of $2,600 to individual candidates and $25,000 to party committees. That measure was backed by bold reform advocate Fred Sauer, a Republican businessman from the state.

Special interests, however, brought the new law before the court- which kept the limits but discarded other parts of the measure which ban certain types of groups from contributing to campaigns.
