Campaign Finance Nonprofit Names Dale Fahnestock as Maryland State Coordinator

Auburn, AL (April 21, 2015) _ Former NASA director and Stellar award winner Dale Fahnestock has been selected as the Maryland state coordinator ( for Take Back Our Republic, a new independent non-partisan group that is focusing on conservative solutions to problems within the campaign finance system.

“It’s about the politicians focusing back on the people they were elected to represent. I think that starts with having more citizens get involved and give small contributions, so we have a level playing field for officials looking out for the taxpayers_ money,” said Fahnestock, who formerly played baseball at NASA and then was a softball star until he was 58 years old, hitting a number of walk off grand slam home runs.

An Elkridge resident, Fahnestock_s scientific background brings a unique perspective to TBOR_s political focus. As NASA_s Director of the Mission Operations and Data Systems Directorate, Fahnestock was responsible for the activities of an internationally recognized research and development organization comprised of the TDRS Network (the network of ground tracking and data acquisition stations), the worldwide NASA communication system and numerous satellite control and data processing centers which provided support for the Space Shuttle, Spacelab and Hubble Space Telescope.
