Please make your tax deductible contributions now so that we can continue to educate the public on issues such as political contributions from international porn companies and the potential for millions in unverified credit card contributions from overseas and other illegal sources. The concern over the impact of this money on our political process is so great that a Foundation offered to double every check we get - but the deadline is in two hours. If you click now, a $500 gift turns into $1,000, and even $50 turns into $100. If you contribute at 3:01 p.m.Eastern you can still make your [...]

Getting through (literal) mud-slinging to Presidential Candidates

Getting through (literal) mud-slinging to Presidential Candidates An open letter to all Presidential campaigns - we proved this week that even mud-slinging will not stop us from getting to each and every Presidential candidate regarding conservative solutions for campaign finance reform (see Bloomberg story today, and recent New Hampshire and Wisconsin interviews). This week we were invited to Capitol Hill (next Wednesday at 1 p.m.) for the announcement of bipartisan legislation being introduced to address unverified credit card contributions that enable foreign and other illegal money to influence American campaigns. We will continue to work for opportunities to meet with each Presidential [...]

Legislation Targets Credit-Card Campaign Contributions

By Kenneth P. Doyle Dec. 2 — New requirements to verify online campaign contributions made by credit card would be imposed by Republican-backed legislation set to be introduced in the House Dec. 3. The new measure, the Stop Foreign Donations Affecting Our Elections Act of 2015, is intended to block illegal foreign campaign contributions from being funneled into U.S. campaigns through unverified credit-card contributions. Republicans accused President Barack Obama's campaign of receiving foreign money through credit-card contributions in 2008 and 2012, though the Federal Election Commission dismissed the accusations. Backers of the new measure said it was not aimed at [...]

White Thanksgiving, skeletons & 13% support for WI bill

Five days in the land of President Obama (Chicago) and Governor Walker (Wisconsin) culminated with Thanksgiving week snow and legislative proposals regarding unpopular attempts to hide who is giving millions of dollars (including illegal foreign money) to political campaigns. The timing of the visit was important. At a time when the US faces serious foreign threats, we CANNOT condone or tolerate foreign money influencing our elections. This week a federal bill was drafted to stop the practice started in 2008 of processing credit card contributions to politicians without verifying addresses to see if they were coming from American citizens. Also, [...]

The Roanoke Star reported on voters once again speaking out in favor of addressing corruption related to money in politics. There are many groups advocating most liberal solutions to money in politics, and obviously Take Back Our Republic is more focused on conservative solutions, Represent Us, which led the charge on this vote, is one group that really seems to work toward whatever solutions seem to work - whether making conservatives uncomfortable by using the words "campaign finance reform," or making liberals uncomfortable by focusing on "government corruption."

Debate Watchers: Campaign Finance 1 of Top 4 Campaign Issues

_At 10:20 p.m. Tuesday, Fox Business debunked the myth that no one votes based on campaign finance with one graphic,_ according to John Pudner, Executive Director of Take Back Our Republic, referring to a graphic shown during the Republican debate indicating it was one of the top four issues on the mind of voters. "A picture is worth 1000 words, and the tired old argument that everyone is for reforming money in politics, but it is a very low priority was proven wrong in one instant." _How is it that voters say they care much more about campaign finance then [...]

Also, I will address last night's election results tomorrow at the Georgia Tea Party meeting in the business office of one of the largest churches in Georgia. The New York Times recently quoted me for the perspective ofTake Back Our Republicon the growing power of small donors to counter balance mega donors. Click on this image for the entire story. When we launched our efforts many doubted how small donors could offset mega donors. In less than a year, Take Back Our Republic overcame these doubts due to people like you building our state grassroots chapters, spreading our educational papers, talking to local press and contributing to Take Back Our Republic. Now please consider contributing to our most important project to date, the publishing of the book, [...]

We visited 11 states and had a record-setting fundraising week between our first press conference on Capitol Hill July 27 and Thursday's return trip (click on image below for full Roll Call article). Shortly thereafter, Representative Kevin McCarthy announced he would not be Speaker Boehner's replacement and Open Secrets (click for full story) noted either Representative Daniel Webster or Jason Chaffetz could be the first Speaker without historic ties to big money. I had planned to spend a couple of hours walking the Halls of Congress to update a few people on the positive reaction we were getting for conservative [...]
