Sunday the IBTimes ran our post regarding Virginia becoming the 22nd state to pass a resolution (HJR599) calling for a 28th Constitutional Amendment to reign in money in politics. In the past five months the IBTimes, or International Business Times, added an 8-person Washington office and doubled its unique monthly visitors to 40 million to pass Bloomberg and practically match the Wall Street Journal. IBTimes summarized the three central points;
- It’s a positive first step towards allowing people to support limits on dark money political contributions through legislatures.
- Virginia is not one of the states with a long history of corruption that has resulted in State Speakers of the House being indicted or even serving prison time.
