AUBURN, AL- Too often, politicians go to Washington and quickly get caught in the trap of appeasing DC insiders or advancing their own interests over representing their constituents.
That’s why we appreciate Congressman Ken Buck’s (R-CO) “I didn’t go to DC to make friends” attitude. Recently, he released a book called “Drain the Swamp: How Washington Corruption is Worse than You Think” that is bound to make the number of friends he holds in the nation’s capital even fewer.
The book details much of what we are concerned about regarding how chairmanships are assigned and withheld. According to Buck and others, “pay to play” is rampant in DC, and he takes his own party to task.
