New Opportunity to Use Technology to Secure Military Voting Rights

AUBURN, AL- At Take Back Our Republic, a central component of our vision is more participation. We want more people engaged, knowledgeable, voting, and contributing time and effort to make certain that their representation reflects their aspirations.

While this is a priority across the board- for every voter, from every state, every ideology, and every race and background- perhaps the most important group to make certain their voting rights are protected is the military.

Now, through technology, their opportunity to make their voice heard may be greater than ever before.

Global Mobile, an Atlanta based company, is developing a platform that would allow our military service members to vote using their mobile device. This innovative approach is still in development, but many Secretaries of State are already on board. Moreover, their patent was recently approved for text voter verification.

The app takes great pains to ensure security and requires unique keywords and passwords. Additionally, users must go through the following process: connect by texting in a provided number, register through voter verification, utilize PIN and picture ID, access ballot on demand, and engage to vote.

We are major fans of this effort. This type of innovation is very beneficial for the process, and it secures opportunity for our military members to vote. Also, we are optimistic about the security measures, and we appreciate the drive for a picture ID.

This is certainly a development worth tracking. What do you think? Do you believe that mobile voting is a key step toward securing voting opportunities for those serving our country? Or, is it a wrong step? Join the conversation at https://www.facebook.com/takebackorg/.
