John Pudner, the executive director of Take Back Our Republic spoke to a room full of Concord-area residents at an event hosted by American Promise at the Parish Hall at Trinity Episcopal Church.
“Citizens are tired of feeling that the system is rigged against them,” Pudner said.
Pudner, a former political consultant who spent three decades helping elect Republicans to public office, is now working alongside Jeff Clements, president of American Promise, to empower American citizens.
“Polling shows that over 70 percent of Republicans, Democrats, conservatives, independents, progressives want dramatic reform of our system” said Pudner.
According to American Promise and Take Back Our Republic, “dramatic reform” means winning a 28th amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would allow Congress and states to enact campaign finance laws to address the problem of unlimited spending by corporations, unions and wealthy individuals in U.S. elections.
