AUBURN, AL- Though campaign finance reform has been a political hot potato- talked about but given little-concentrated attention by either major party, we at Take Back Our Republic have long articulated that those who take up the issue will see a political advantage come their way.
Reihan Salam, of The Atlantic, wrote a compelling piece articulating that the way forward for the Republican Party, especially if it experiences losses in 2018, could be campaign finance reform.
Salam identifies the Party as increasingly out-of-touch with its more populist base, a widening disparity of support among those with college degrees and needing to deliver real accomplishments. He also believes that the impending exit of Paul Ryan and possibly Mitch McConnell- both of whom have opposed reform- could pave the way for a new wave of Republicans to make a push on the issue.
