Today, the only national conservative money in politics organization, Take Back Our Republic (TBOR), named Jacob Argue as the North Carolina Coordinator for the Triangle Region, which includes Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, to be one of the leaders for the organization’s statewide efforts.
Jacob is currently a Master of Public Policy student at Duke’s Sanford School of Public Policy. Before coming to North Carolina, he was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Tanzania, where he taught secondary school physics. He received undergraduate degrees in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Utah.
Jacob understands the importance of reforming our elections. “It is a fundamental issue that all of our problems are related to, if not caused by. American election turnout ranks 26th out of the 32 countries in the OECD, at 55.7% of eligible voters. It isn’t that Americans don’t care about politics, but that they don’t believe the politicians have their best interests in mind. Unfortunately, they are often right. Politicians often pick their voters—rather than the other way around—through gerrymandering districts, and are beholden to their financial contributors’ interests. Until we fix our democracy, both liberals and conservatives will continue to be dissatisfied with their representatives. Take Back Our Republic understands this, and is fighting to change it. I’m all in.”
“I’m happy to announce the addition of Jacob as our North Carolina coordinator. He’s going to provide exactly what TBOR needs in the important “Triangle” portion of the state between Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. Jacob brings a unique background to the position and already has a great grasp of the issues TBOR advocates for. We are adding a great ambassador of the organization today.” said Deputy Director Justin Hill.
State Coordinators call fellow TBOR members throughout their state to discuss which of the issues from TBOR’s website (www.takeback.org) they believe are the highest priority in their state.
